Using the Free CentralPets Sherlock Plug-in

Sherlock is Apple's search utility that is built into the Mac OS System 8.5 and later. Using this Sherlock search engine plug-in from The Central Pets Educational Foundation will let you easily search the CentralPets.com site for information about pets and animals and pet and animal related resources. Our plugin is capable of updating itself whenever a newer version is posted.

We hope that you enjoy the increased convenience of being able to search this site from within Sherlock.

Installation Instructions

  • 1. Click this link to download the CentralPets.com Sherlock plug-in: CentralPets.com Sherlock Plug-in

  • 2. Decompress the file you just downloaded which is named CentralPets.src.hqx.

  • 3. Drag the final result which is a plug-in (CentralPets.src) file onto your closed System Folder.

  • 4. A box will appear telling you that the file will need to be put in the Internet Search Sites Folder, click OK and it will be automatically put in the appropriate place.

  • 5. As an alternative to 3 and 4 above, you may also drag the plug-in (CentralPets.src) file onto the Sherlock window if it is open.

  • 6. Open Sherlock and check the item named CentralPets.com - Pet and Animal Information.

  • 7. Search Away!

Requirements:
This plug-in is for Macintosh computers running OS 8.5 or newer.
