How do you define your pet categories?

We have tried to organize this site in a way that is efficient and user friendly. We have five main groups of animals. They are: Mammals, Birds, Fish and More, Reptiles and Amphibians, and Insects. Within each pet group we have broken down the listings even further. For instance within Mammals we have a Dogs category. We refer to these categories as "Pet Types".

Sometimes it is difficult to find the correct pet type in which to classify an animal. We want to keep the total number of pet types as low as possible to make searches more efficient. For this reason we do not create many new pet types. If you see something that is obviously not classified correctly please let us know.
